Description
"Rachel Singh is a singer-songwriter and visual artist from Mumbai, India. She is currently majoring in songwriting at the Berklee College of Music, Boston. Growing up, she trained in Hindustani classical music alongside western theory through the Trinity College Of London.
Her artistic curiosity extends to multiple facets of expression. Some of these are sculpting, photography and cinematography. As a third generation musician, she perseveres to contribute meaningfully to the family legacy.
Her father Raju Singh, an esteemed composer and music director and her grandfather, Charanjit Singh, is known for his diversity within the field; he is considered a pioneer of acid house internationally, is famous for his colourful release ‘Ten Ragas To A Disco Beat’ and was a regular at the table with R.D. Burman and Kishore Kumar. In 2019, she featured on 2 songs alongside her brother Joshua Singh on his debut EP, Understudy where she was applauded for her graceful and unapologetically honest vocal performance.
