Professional dental cleanings (dental prophylaxis) are performed in office by our Registered Dental Hygienist. Your cleaning appointment will include a dental exam and the following: Removal of tartar (calculus): Tooth tartar is hardened plaque that has been left on the tooth for an extended time and is now attached to the tooth surface.
