Description
Sunitinib is an oral medication that is prescribed to treat gastrointestinal stromal tumors and pancreatic cancer. The prescribed dosage is Sunitinib 50 mg because in few cases it may reduce or stop cancer’s progression. Sunitinib focus on preventing the blood vessel that surrounds the tumor. Sunitinib 50 mg is taken by mouth once a day for four weeks, 2 weeks off in case of gastrointestinal stromal tumors and kidney cancer, and 37.5 mg is taken for pancreatic tumors. Some common side effects include nausea, vomiting, upset stomach, fever, and tiredness.
